Introducing Penn Capital PRIME!

Penn Capital is proud to announce the creation of Penn Capital PRIME (Philadelphia Regional Investing Mentorship Experience) to empower the next generation of minority women investment professionals.

By partnering with Invest in Girls, Penn Capital will sponsor a three-year financial literacy and investing curriculum that spans a student’s sophomore through senior years of high school. We are in the process of identifying a partner high school in the Philadelphia School District with a goal to have our first class of 10-12 students begin the program in the Fall of 2017. More details to follow.

ETHEL MAE HOCKER FOUNDATION

The Ethel Mae Hocker Foundation*, founded in 2005 and privately funded by Richard and Marcia Hocker, provides educational opportunities to less fortunate, deserving elementary and high school students. The Foundation partners with outstanding educational institutions (currently ten in the greater Philadelphia region, one in California) to identify students who demonstrate leadership abilities, academic success, and commitment to the community who are also in need of financial and personal support. For the 2017 – 2018 school year the Foundation will be adding two new schools (one in the greater Philadelphia region, one in South Carolina) for a total of thirteen.

Since its inception the Foundation is proud to have assisted approximately 500 students and awarded over $15 million in scholarship money.

*The Foundation is a registered 501c3 entity.

PENN CAPITAL WALKS AGAINST HATE

On a gorgeous spring morning "Team Penn Capital" joined 2,300 fellow participants for the Anti-Defamation League's (ADL) Walk Against Hate held Sunday, May 21, 2017 at our home - the beautiful Philadelphia Navy Yard!

As a corporate sponsor of this year's walk, Penn Capital was proud to be part of an event that supports the ADL in fighting all forms of bigotry, defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all through information, education, legislation, and advocacy.

PENN MEETS PENN.... AGAIN

Following a visit in late January by members of the University of Pennsylvania football team, in June members of the school's basketball team, all of whom are accounting or finance majors and have expressed interest in learning more about the Investment Management industry, visited Penn Capital. The program was once again organized by internU, which administers educational programs that helps students prepare for pursuing a career and life after college.

During “Penn Meets Penn...Again” the students received an overview of the firm and its capabilities then “followed the dollar.” A tour of the office started in the Marketing and Distribution department where the students were given an overview of how client outreach and relationships begin. From there they spent time with the Operations team where new accounts are on-boarded. The students ended their visit by spending time with the Portfolio Management team where money is invested.

Penn Capital was thrilled to once again host students from the University of Pennsylvania and looks forward to future endeavors with internU!
